A Year-Round Allied Health Workforce Pathway for Ages 18–24

Transition Academies LLC’s Opportunity Youth Initiative serves young adults ages 18–24 at Central Detroit Christian (CDC). The initiative creates an accessible, community-based pathway to allied health career exploration, foundational credentials, employability skills, further education, and living-wage employment.

YEAR-ROUND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Supported by Neighborhood Legal Services of Michigan (NLSM) workforce development grant, programming is designed to operate year-round so participants receive sustained guidance rather than a one-time introduction. Activities connect career awareness with practical preparation and clear next steps.

• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Healthcare administration
• CPR and First Aid
• OSHA safety training
• Employability and professional skills
• College and workforce navigation
